Meet the Team

The Farrell Firm

Ed Farrell practiced as a solo attorney for many years, beginning his law career in the downtown Flint, Michigan community. After several successful years in Flint, he relocated to Grand Blanc as it opened up greater opportunity for him to reach more people.

In 2005, the decision was made to move the expanding practice to Lapeer. The office was initially located in the former Heron Insurance building on Genesee St. Since a significant number of Ed’s previous clients were from Lapeer County, this change offered easy access to the surrounding communities and also to the Lapeer Court complex.

The practice then relocated to the Cornerstone Centre building, next to the Secretary of State, in 2012. In late 2017, it moved to it’s present location on Clay Street. From this location, Ed has convenient access to Lapeer, Genesee and Oakland county courts. He also travels throughout the State of Michigan, serving clients in both the upper and lower peninsulas.

Over the years, The Farrell Firm has seen strong growth and increased its service areas. Ed is supported by his office manager, Diane, and his legal assistant, Bernadette. Together, the staff of The Farrell Firm works to create a service-based law practice which combines professionalism with down-home appeal.

Professional Associations

Ed Farrell is a licensed member of the Michigan legal community, and is a member of the following professional associations: Michigan Bar Association, Lapeer County Bar Association, Genesee County Bar Association, and Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan (CDAM).

MEET ED

Edward J. Farrell, III

Ed Farrell is a native Michigander. His parents hail from the Upper Peninsula, but moved to Lower Michigan early in their marriage. Ed still has a large family group in the UP, and he travels there as often as he is able to spend time with them. Ed grew up in Clio with his immediate family which included his parents and two younger brothers. His parents were teachers in the Clio schools.

Ed graduated from high school, and began his college education at the University of Michigan – Flint campus. He completed his law studies at Cooley Law School in Lansing, graduating in 1991. He was admitted to the State Bar and licensed to practice law in 1992. His practice was originally located in the downtown Flint area, but eventually moved out to Grand Blanc. The office was located there until its relocation to the Lapeer area in 2005. Since most of Ed’s clients were from Lapeer County, it seemed best to have his home office in the Lapeer area.

Ed married his high school sweetheart, Melissa, and they have a son and a daughter. Their family lives in Fenton, and they are active in their home church and community. Ed is a motor sports enthusiast, and loves snowmobiling, riding four wheelers, cycles and just about anything with an engine and tires, especially if it’s a diesel engine! He is a friendly, outgoing person, and has never met a stranger!

I would like to thank The Farrell Firm for representing me in my legal action. Not only did Mr. Farrell show great knowledge of the law and in the Courtroom, but he also showed me respect and kindness before, during and after the process. Mr. Farrell went the extra mile for me. I am an extremely satisfied client.
